Black Friday or Friday Fool’s?

black friday store campaign

Black Friday is almost here and everybody is getting ready to start their holiday shopping. Amazon is doing their offers for the whole week, and other stores are already preparing for the Friday Fool’s day.

Because everybody is doing a black Friday post, I decided to have one too. I’m a bad person and I want a piece of the pie too. Still don’t know what pie, but I think any pie is good.

Anyway, I think the whole black Friday’s hype doesn’t worth the effort of going to the stores or at least to change countries traditions.

Stupid Black Friday Deals

Also, I think some of the offers are stupid. Like buying a Playstation 3 for the same price but with a bundle of horrible games that I would pay somebody to get rid of them.

One of the offers I saw was that Walmart and Amazon are going to match the prices of any product. What that means is that they will give you the same price of any of their product based on their competition.

I think that “offer” doesn’t have anything special, unless they give you something else. Why would you buy from them if you already have the lowest price in other store? Isn’t the point of price matching is also offer something else and make an incentive to buy from you instead of the competitor? I know that most people don’t pay taxes when buying in Amazon, but that happens with almost all the online stores unless the store has an office in your state.

Midnight Craziness

I know people that goes at midnight just to be the first on the store, I think that’s crazy. I don’t believe people can save that much money that day, at least to pay for the hassle to go to the store at that hour like a mad men.

I’m still thinking in buying a TV online. Are you doing any shopping in this black Friday? (or pink Saturday, white Sunday or cyber Monday?)

  1. Last year was the first time I heard of Black Friday, we don’t have this day in Norway :-)

I have read about some of the crazy deals, and I’ve heard some stories about how people get on a day like that. I would actually love to go out to the big stores to experience how people behave on Black Friday, it would be awesome to make a video of it and put it on YouTube :-)

I haven’t gone to shop to the stores but is a huge hype. All my friends get crazy. I’m not a big shopper, maybe that’s why I don’t see the big deal.

      • The same goes for me. I don’t care much for shopping, and not much for discounts either. When I shop I care about customer service, that’s why I almost always shop at the same places and eat at the same restaurants :)

What do you think?
